Safeguarding Code - national recognition award

Annual Health Check re-accreditation success, September

2024-2025

Cheshire Karate Academy has been working with Sport England to obtain the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts Trustmark... and has successfully renewed its accreditation status following the Annual Health Check.

This confirms our commitment to ensuring a good standard of safeguarding and provides peace of mind for parents.

Great efforts and successes at our latest academy grading!

Juniors, Teens and Adults came together for their grading on Saturday, 15th June 2024 at our Astbury Village Hall dojo.

After much practicing, their efforts and commitment paid off with great results...

New belts have been awarded and all students are wearing them with pride!

So proud of you all, and great to see family members there watching & supporting you all too.

Train hard!

Cheshire Karate Academy at the Y.E.S event, 11th May 2024

Many thanks to our students and parents who supported us at our stand on Saturday, May 11th 2024, 11am - 2pm in Sandbach Town Hall.

It was the Sandbach Y.E.S. (Youth Engagement Showcase) event on a gloriously sunny day :-)

We first opened our doors to students in Sandbach over 18 months ago... how fast that has gone and how our students have gone from strength-to-strength!

Several newcomers registered for their free karate trial class... they also met some of our existing students, white belts to green Belts alike.

We also offered a limited number of discounted places for our Reality-based Street Self-Defence short-course... tried and tested by security and armed forces personnel... helping people to stay safe on the streets. A few places are still open to age 16+ (and age 12+ when accompanied by a parent).

Many thanks again to all our volunteers, your support is much appreciated!

Grading held on Saturday January 20th 2024

Well done to all who took part, you did great...

Your new belts have been ordered and will be presented soon 🙂

Very proud of you all, Sensei Paula

> Wednesday October 11th at 4pm, Sandbach Wesley Centre

About Us

We practise traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu, which focuses on effective close-quarters fighting. We enjoy tournaments, but believe that the true heart of karate is self defence.
